Based on the true story of California Narcotics Detective Sue
Webber-Brown, GIRL NAMED SUE tells the inspiring journey of an unlikely hero and her battle to save the overlooked victims of the illegal drug trade, the children. A small town single mom, who dreams of being a cop, Sue fights her way into the boys’ club of law enforcement and discovers a rural crystal-methamphetamine epidemic where innocent kids are living in homes turned into meth labs.
Sue takes it upon herself to help these children; a decision that risks alienation at work as well as the safety of her own family. Sue is triumphant in her dramatic uphill battle inCalifornia and a handful of other states, but there is still more work to be done. Her resilient spirit and her revolutionary idea, the Drug Endangered Children’s Program, have been honored by both President Bush and President Obama. Yet, there is still no federal law making the D.E.C. protocol mandatory during drug investigations.
During her career, Sue rescued more than 3,000 children.
She continues to train law enforcement officers and first
responders all over the country today.
